No reason for the title of this post other than the fact that I have had this word stuck in my head all day. The other day I had taciturn stuck in my head. I believe this to be a symptom of listening to too many episodes of Sherlock Holmes.
Anyway, while watching perhaps the worst movie ever made on this earth last night, Mimi’s First Time, I finished up the collar of the capelet and bound off. Now just to weave in the ends and do the button band thing.

This is also a sad day because today I discovered that there are holes in the bottom of my all time favorite slippers. I thought they were feeling a little thinner than usual, and finally I looked at their sad soles. Poor green slippers, you have served me well, and probably will continue to serve me, though somewhat less, until I can find time to knit some new ones. Green slippers you are my first knit to die, and I am feeling sad about you.

This is the question I hear most often when wearing this dress. People often tell me that they like the dresses I’m wearing (I have started an exquisite dress collection) but nobody has ever asked me so many times in one day where I got a dress. Barney’s? No. Marimekko? No. Made it myself? Yes. Two customers at Nordstrom even went over to the dress section and asked the sales girls there if we carrled the dress the girl in Activewear was wearing and if they could find out where I had gotten it. So I would have to say this is my most successfull dressmaking to date. Mmmm, it is good to take your time when sewing.
The pattern is McCalls 5315 on sale for $1.99
The fabric is from Hancock $7.00 for two yards.
I had to make the smallest size dress, 4, even though the measurements on the back of the pattern said I would be an 8. Hmm….
It seems that I have been relatively productive since contracting the most dreaded virus of the season. Here is some proof.

It’s true, the Hong Kong flu has hit me, aparently my flu shot only covered the Wisconsin Flu, so sick I have become. I have been sitting in a chair in the corner of my room with a heating pad, juice and biscuts trying to finish up some knitting projects and listening to the Sherlock Holmes Audio podcast. Perhaps I will be able to finish one project tonight. We will see…
Work has resumed on the Denise Schmidt Heating Pad Cover.

Curtains have been fashioned.

So I finshed that skirt and top. I’s been pretty hectic around here but classes are over now, off work till the 13th, phew.

I went to the fat quarter sale at the Pieceful Heart and got a zillion wonderful quarters. someday they will make something, but we’ll see what and when that is. Hopefully I can stop at The Quilt Cottage in Hazelhurst, WI when we go up to the cabin on Wednesday.

Now off to clean.
