Today I have been working on drafting pintucks, something which can literally take hours to complete when you are insane enough (as I was) to include a mind numbing quantity of them.
pintuckCross your fingers it looks good in the end…and that the end comes before a possible triple date tonight. If not it may end up being a five person date.

Fibers that is.  Today we had a guest lecturer/labber in my Textiles, Dagmar Klos.  She dyes uber beautiful yarns and fabrics which she knits and weaves into pretties.  We also indigo dyed but the dye bath was imbalanced by the end and mine didn’t come out very dark.

Exhibit A: The Decemberists
december
It has been two years but finally I have been witness to another Decemberists show. Last time I saw them they consisted of all original members and were wonderful, this time they were just as wonderful. You truly cannot go wrong with an accordion, an upright bass, and an interest in the Civil War.

Exhibit B: Christmas Yarn

yarns

Slightly less theatrically arranged than the costumed players featured above, my first shipment of Christmas yarn has arrived. Perhaps you will be so lucky as to be gifted a Christmas knit. Chances are that you are.

Yesterday I came down with a sort of 24 hour fainting on the El Flu type thing which lasted from my morning commute till I woke up this morning. That was a lot of fun, let me tell you. Because of this I have homework homework homework and classes to make up. This is what I have been doing all day…

Have you seen this ball of yarn? Neither have I. Well I have seen it, my mom is knitting a bag out of them, but have you seen them for purchase on the internet or anywhere in the Chicagoland area? Me neither. It is sad because it is the most beautiful yarn ever, and perhaps I will never see any more because the yarn store we bought them from closed. Lame.

Here’s where I’m at on my dream sock, then I have another to make. I have been super busy with work and school so I haven’t had much time to do anything, hence my sock and heating pad cover are sitting around lonely and unfinished. So sad.

Perhaps I will post some of my patternmaking homework so that I don’t look so lazy. Ha.
