I am packing and moving.

I finished a sweater and am working on a glove.

I have a million piles of clothes that need mending.

I have decided I have too much stuff.

Thus is the lament of an old art major.

Applique Class 01

I took an applique class a few weeks and I don’t like to brag, but I was pretty darn good. A natural born talent. So good, in fact, that our applique “professor” did not believe I had never appliqued before. Now if only I could replace the word “applique” with something a little more marketable. International finance perhaps.

This is my baby girl. She is sick and wants to be touching me at all times. She is the best pug in the world.

Sick Sister

Where have I been? Obviously not hangin’ round snaggletooth. I suppose we will just pick up where I left off. Wisconsin. So yes, we went to Wisconsin, it was grand times. Here’s basically what happened.

We shot guns.

Wisconsin July 04

We looked for cell phone signals.

Wisconsin July 02

We played Risk. The 1968 version mind you, USSR anyone?
Wisconsin July 01

If you pepper those activities with boating you have our week in Wisconsin.

On our epic drive to Idaho we first spent the night in Sioux Falls where we watched the 4th of July fireworks from a patch of green at the local K-Mart. These photos are rather dark with a big blob of Sister in the bottom right corner, and really, I think we all know what fireworks look like so I have chosen to omit them.

The next day we had a quick stop at the Badlands which Sister did not particularly enjoy due to immense heat and lack of shade.

Then on to our destination of the day, Silver City, South Dakota to visit a friend.

Idaho 07

Due to the suggestion of a long hike and the allure of not being in the car, we stayed an extra day. This, however created the problem of a 15 hour drive the next day to get to the Batten camp, something we obviously did not think out very well. We finally arrived around 10 at night.

While in Idaho we attended a wedding at an airfield…

Idaho 03

We did (or watched) an amazing amount of fishing.

Idaho 02

And of course we ended up on the beach.

Idaho 04

Then it was time to head home. On the morning of our last drive we stopped at the Home Bakery for tasty morning snacks. We made it home that night.
