Here’s a photo of my Sister munching on an ear of corn. She’s really going to town that girl.
Today I went running for the first time in mmm perhaps well a while. I used to run until about 2 years ago. I even trained for a marathon that I never got to run because of mono but that is another story. My L5 vertebrae was the cause of this 2+ year running vacation. So anyway I’m running along (okay so I’m running then walking then running then walking because my back has to get used to this crap) and turns out my body forgot what it feels like to have everything in your body going down only to smash hard on the ground and be forced into the other direction. My bones were going up and my flesh was going down. I always wondered why running was unappealing to some people, and now I know.
Not much has been going on except for planting since it has been so nice out. Here are my herbs last week since I was having some camera difficulties.

I have 3 new additions to my plant collection. Cilantro and lavender for extra flavor and I’m not sure what.

And a beautiful hibiscus which almost died this morning due to excessive heat and being watered only once yesterday because nobody was home.

I have ripped out the tube tank and have done the maths to make it a smaller top so hopefully that works. I figured that a photo of my cakes of yarn and some maths would be a pretty boring photo so I am sparing you that one. I also made a new kennel pad for Sister today and scrubbed out her kennel. Who knew our poor girl was living in such squalor. No longer, there is even a kennel blanket to match. Perhaps I will post a photo of that someday, but again, seems a bit boring and light on color.
I think the photos will be doing the talking here. This is the top from my last post. Even the ribbing at the bottom is too large. We know we have a problem when ribbing doesn’t want to grab.
Doesn’t look so large in this photo up top but that is because the only thing holding the top up is my arms.

Ah yes, here’s all that extra. I know that the top is supposed to have straps but they would just be holding up a whole lot of sag. No good. A rework is in the works.

Posting has been a bit here and there mostly due to the fact that I have no card for my camera, but I managed to get hold of one for this past weekend’s trip to the cottage. Luke, Jon, Sister and I headed up on Thursday night and by night I mean we arrived at 4 a.m. Turns out that’s when it just begins to get light up there in the Northwoods. We had some delicious scones courtesy of ol’ Martha Stewart (Jon I am looking for the clotted cream recipe. I haven’t forgotten for I would hate to be responsible for the demise of your hat.)

Sister taught the the three of us a thing or two about boating.

Then we spotted an Eagles nest. A bald one. No eaglets though and of course I took the picture when the eagle wasn’t there. Mmmm it’s hard work being this good of a nature photographer.

Then Sister got greedy and stole a delicious Friday Fish Fry Finger that rode on our bumper all the way back to the cabin from Changing Waves. What a girl she is.

I have yet to work on the spot dot dress because I am still to lazy to change the bobbin from black to white. I did finish a knitted item but unfortunatly when they wrote for 32″ bust with 2″ ease they actually meant a much larger 32″ that I posess, perhaps I need to get hold of that tape measure. Only my arms jammed against my side will keep that thing held up in the front, actually even my hips barely stop that thing from hitting the floor. It also makes me look pregnant. The horrors.
Well I am back from my sister’s graduation but sadly we have no photos because my digital camera was stolen and the photos erased. Lucky for me Camera and I were reunited at approx. 15:00 this afternoon. He is badly shaken and constantly looking over his little camera back…but not as much as the guy who stole little Camera.
Then you find out the top is too large and you become too lazy to change your bobbin. Bobbin shmobbin I made the 32 1/2″ bust, turns out I was fooling myself. Maybe once I attach the sleeves.

All ready for the collar and not a legnth of black thread in sight.

It’s been so nice out that I have been neglecting my snaggle tooth. Sigh. Here is what has been going on in the life of the snaggle since we visited last.
1. Hemming up sleves of a co-workers jacket. No photos, extremely boring but will pay for the yarn for no.2.
2. Working on my first pattern, the button closure top. It’s knitted in Cotton-ease and blech to that yarn. It is also knit in the round and bleh to knitting in the round. On straights we are the home of the even stitch but on the circulars you would swear I was drunk when I knit it. The yarn doesn’t help the look either. Besides that it is too short and too wide and the color reminds me of scrubs. So far it’s a triple bleh.

3. Spring planting ya’ll. We have planted a strawberry planter with marigolds in the first floor apartments in the hopes of keep the vermin away. Next door we have another marigold for further unpleasantness as well as some dusty miller for me to pet. Mmm softness.

4. Herb garden v.02. Left in the care of others for a weekend Herbs v.01 met their unsightly end. I returned to find a shriveled lump of sad sad herbs. So much for joint custody.
